In Aristotelian Poetics, "catharsis" describes the highest form of spiritual purification through art appreciation. Contemporary psychology also uses the term to describe the phenomenon when the soul frees itself of negative emotion by acting out suppressed inner conflicts. For us, catharsis is an encounter with ourselves, a look at our own substance which we can achieve only when the music clasps us in its arms, when we taste the precious freedom of devoting ourselves to the sounds unconditionally.
From KATHARSIS you can expect a mixture of all different styles of the Industrial sound aesthetics, but also a lot beyond that. The focus lies on rhythmics and hypnotizing soundscapes. There will be music to dance to and music to dream to. In the proper sense of catharsis, we want to cleanse ourselves of conventional musical dogmas and the boundaries in sound aesthetics which we are being induced with every day. We want to break tonal tabus, explore unusual frequency ranges and open up our mind to the unheard.
You are invited to worship the music and worship yourself in this collective night of catharsis.

"Katharsis" beschreibt in der aristotelischen Poetik die höchste Form der seelischen Reinigung durch die Kunstbetrachtung. Auch die zeitgenössische Psychologie greift auf diesen Begriff zurück, um jenes Phänomen zu umschreiben, wenn die Psyche sich durch das Ausleben verdrängter Selbstkonflikte von negativen Emotionen befreit. Für uns bedeutet Katharsis eine Begegnung mit uns selbst, den Blick in die eigene Substanz, den wir erhaschen dürfen, wenn die Musik uns in ihre alles verzehrende Umarmung schließt, wenn wir die wertvolle Freiheit kosten dürfen, uns den Klängen bedingungslos hinzugeben.
Mit KATHARSIS erwartet euch eine Mischung aller Spielformen der Industrial-Klangästhetik, aber auch vieles darüber hinaus. Der Fokus liegt auf Rhythmik und hypnotisierenden Klangflächen. Es wird Musik zum Tanzen und Musik zum Träumen geben. Ganz im Sinne der kathartischen Reinigung wollen wir uns reinwaschen von konventionellen musikalischen Dogmen und den klangästhetischen Grenzen, die uns alltäglich induziert werden. Wir wollen für eine atemberaubende Nacht klangliche Tabus aufbrechen, ungewöhnliche Frequenzbereiche erforschen und unseren Geist für Ungehörtes öffnen.

APHEXIA
Aphexia ist das zweite elektronische Projekt von Ophelia The Suffering (Ecstasphere). Komplexe Percussion-Patterns, glasklare Beats und ausschweifende melodische Patterns kennzeichen den Sound von Aphexia ebenso wie die für das IDM-Genre typischen sphärischne Klangflächen. Mit Industrial-Elementen und polyphonen Vocals kombiniert entsteht der einzigartige, vielseitige, emotional aufreibende Klang, der dieses Projekt auszeichnet. Das zweite Album "The Gates" ist im Mai erschienen.
Aphexia is the second electronic music project of Ophelia The Suffering (Ecstasphere). Complex percussion patterns, crystal clear beats and extravagant melodic patterns distinguish Aphexia's sound as well as spherical soundscapes typical for IDM music. Combined with Industrial elements and polyphonic vocals the result is a unique, diverse and emotionally challenging sound. Aphexia's second album "The Gates" was released in May this year.
