In an ever growing sea of sound one star that continues to shine bright is the prolific Lis Sarroca. The Barcelona based talent continues to propel her dynamic dance floor ethos as she sets up shop for another year of positive growth. The half Mexican, half Spanish artist has an impeccable instinct for uncovering the dustiest of gems, and truly embraces the journey of exploring music and welcoming new tastes and textures to her artillery, never allowing herself to become strained by genres.
You may already be familiar with Lis’ stellar output on heavyweight labels such as the legendary Chiwax imprint with her “Booyah” EP, her output on the Shall Not Fade label (where she will be returning in 2022), Hot Haus Records, and quite notably her own Maai Records which was launched in 2021. In its short life Maai has already received love from across the board. A platform which allows Lis to express herself to the maximum, but simultaneously push fellow artists and friends she meets along the way. Slotting in perfectly amongst Lis’ hectic release schedule is a single release which will land on the acclaimed !K7 DJ Kicks Compilation from none other than Cinthie.
Inevitably Lis’ passion does not lie with just production, as her elegantly selected DJ sets are earning her serious stripes amongst the tastemakers out there. Her ability to paint pictures via sound has earned her sets at the likes of Fabric (London), Sisyphos (Berlin), Moog (Barcelona), several spots at Frankfurt’s Rawax events, and her own Maai Records showcase in Mexico City. Moving forward at an alarming rate Lis has already signed off a series of bucket list gigs for the coming period which will all be revealed in due course.
When your work ethic is as strong as Lis’, positive results are inevitable but it is her charming and infectious energy she portrays via her music which means she will continue on this upward journey in the coming years.
